Sited in a glorious part of the Marches the Spaceguard Centre is an astronomical observatory specialising in Near Earth Objects (NEOs); asteroids and comets that could potentially hit the Earth.  It is also the National NEO Information Centre.

You might have seen the movies “Deep Impact” and “Armageddon”, but the threat of NEOs hitting the Earth is more real than most people realise. At the Spaceguard Centre you can find out about the possibility of a genuine “Deep Impact”, and what we could do to stop it happening.

The guided tour takes you around the Spaceguard Centre, looking at what they do.  As well as the fully equipped observatory there are many fascinating exhibits such as a small planetarium, meteorites and samples from impact craters.
